Castaway EP

Luc Vurdant has a beautiful mind and his records have so much depth within a minimalistic techno infused glaze. “Castaway” immediately hits you from the gate with the faint bird humming set atop a beautifully rich baseline and simple textured rhythms. A beautiful piece that builds in a very modal and intelligent way. “Escapade” has an aggressive edge to it juxtaposed with a flighty chordal synth riff. A very heady record for the late nights. “Rhythmia” is evil and dark in all of the right places. Reminiscent of Plastic Orange records from the early - mid 90s, it has a techno flair that is very forward thinking yet classic at the same time. “CounterSync” closes out the EP in dramatic fashion, with pulsating riffs juxtaposed with hollow metallic percussion layers. A terrific release and an introduction into the SOARTECH series, through Soar Records.
