A new label, a new beginning, and the start of a chapter in an unwritten book - how do we artistically make a statement and what do we want to accomplish with our art ? Soar Records is the vision of label owner Jim Spirou, a musician with over 30 years of experience working in the music industry. His production school Musicboxx teaches electronic music composition and production in a school format, with classmates and project homework etc. = as an incubator for harnessing and teaching composition and record writing, it only made sense for Jim and Dave (fellow musician and business partner) to have SOAR be the creative vessel behind the proverbial floating notes flying around the classroom. Soar Records is an expression of love, of art, of good quality and taste within the electronic music spectrum. This release showcases label artist Mason Alexander at his finest - with an electric sense of energy on the staccato percussion and beautiful overlaying synth pads, this dark minimalistic vibe is haunting and expanding to the mind. "Anytime We Dare" has rich warm bass tones set atop a floating pad landscape. "Loco Love" has a more coy feel to it, with a familiar and entrenching synth riff melody that carries a strong motif throughout. "Feel Alright" has very experimental vocals juxtaposed with beautiful chordal changes and melody textures. "Something" has a more introspective feel, with spacious minimalistic percussion tones that have extremely long reverb tails. Overall this is beautiful work and the start to a wonderful beginning into the world of Soar Records.
