Here is a breakdown of OHMZONE LAYER...

BACK IN TIME

Back in time takes you on a downtempo journey with a very mellow but deep kick leading a four four rhythm. A very haunting but soothing melodic synth gives way to a very nice progression as the song evolves Through Time and builds just a little more with every new chorus.

BOUYANCY

The name itself gives way to the tracks overall feeling. A very laid back bouncy feel gives way to a well arranged breakbeat rhythm on the overall drums with the support of a rich lead synth that will carry its presence from chorus to chorus. This one is definitely one of Dave's more laid-back style of writing especially when it comes to downtempo brakes.

ILLUMINATING SENSES

Illuminating senses takes you on a journey right from start to finish. Opening up with a Baseline and a ripping synth this dance floor progressor gradually builds Through Time with new layered soundscapes a cool haunting melody and a sweet blend of arpeggios right down to the first break. This one definitely stands as a peak hour dance floor driver that will surely have you moving beat by beat.

IMPULSE

If you ever been on a roller coaster ride then impulse would be the track of choice. This track highlights some of Dave's monotonous writing style along with a form of progression of ups and downs as he shifts through different melodic structures that'll have you peeking and dropping just like a roller coaster ride. Every drop hits you with a massive synth. Reaching the breakdown takes you on a epic journey of straight synth and melody before hitting you one last time with a massive drop and tailing off beautifully as the final Melody drives right through the last hook.

OHMZONE LAYER

This feature track of the album ohmzone layer gives way to a very rhythmic approach on the top end and sticks you with a memorable Melody right from the very beginning. With its 2 Bar progression driving the Melody and chords this track definitely gives way to its Progressive nature and it surely doesn't skip out on the main drums driving the overall rhythm. This track has big written all over it.

PLATONIC

Definitely one of Daves more creative pieces of the album. This track says journey all the way. A heavy 808 with beautiful sounds scapes, pitch bends, melodic stabs and a humming baseline. This track will take you through a well structured arrangement and atmospheric blend of a simple yet pleasing sounds to listen to. The great contrast between big drums and soothing synths takes PLATONIC on a well balanced listening experience.

PROGMATIC

Kicking things off with a rolling baseline and a straight 4/4 kick PROGMATIC works its progressive magic through time with its layers of drum sounds. as the song moves through its bar counts. Building on every new element with the backing of a harmonic pad Dave builds this one very strategically right down to the break where he takes you and strips you of ever Layer but the bass before bringing it back to a deep drop of only bass melody and kick. This one is definitely a dance floor sensory overload

STRATOSPHERE

In this smooth yet subtle piece Dave opens up with a very soundtrack like feel. This 10 minute Journey really starts to take shape at the 2-minute Mark with a buildup of atmospheric synths and a melodic introduction while hitting hard with a big sound on the drums and taking over the Rhythm of what becomes the rest of the track. From here on in the track is nothing but energy with melodic stabs and phrases and an excellent rhythmic push on the drums that will keep you dancing right to the end

TECH-NICIAN

From the whole album if there's one track that starts right off the bat with a great sense of energy TECHNICIAN will definitely have you moving right from the start. Starting with a base for four rhythm this track takes you on a very epic and melodic Journey with world like atmospheric synths and melodies yet still driving the dance floor and not letting off the Rhythm as it works its magic through the whole track. The breakdown alone is very stripped back but builds right back up in to what's expected of the final drop.

WAVES

Having a listen to waves you'll definitely hear Dave's versatility in his writing style. This one almost has more of a break like feel where the drums have a very nice bounce to them but at the same time maintaining a very smooth rhythm. In this very structured piece you can definitely feel the ups and downs of how the track moves through time. Also having a blend of Melodies and synths of great repetition but yet subtle variation WAVES keeps you listening as the track itself has its very own story to be told.
